Stewardship
The Ark doesn't just use the word stewardship lightly. It is an important aspect that Christians are to have as they exercise their faith in their daily lives. It was one of the first commands of God to man;
"He created them male and female. God blessed them: 'Prosper! Reproduce! Fill Earth! Take charge! Be responsible for fish in the sea and birds in the air, for every living thing that moves on the face of Earth.' " - Gen 1:28
God commands us to be responsible for everything He gives to us. We are to be caretakers, stewards of what He has created and truly belongs to Him. Think of it as God allowing us to borrow and use what is His. We are also told by God that the amount of what we are allowed to borrow and use, the amount we are responsible for depends on how we give.
"Give, and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over, will be poured into your lap. For with the measure you use, it will be measured to you." - Luke 6:38
With this in mind The Ark also believes this applies not just to the individual but the church, the body of believers. If the church as an organization does not set the example of stewardship for it's members, then how can it be expected that the members that make up the church practice good stewardship. (To assist with stewardship check out the stewardship help resources and links.)
The Ark's ministry is funded by God's provision through the faithful donations, tithes and offerings of our members, attenders and supporters. We honor this and are obedient to the scriptures quoted above by exercising wise, faithful and spiritual stewardship of the resources afford us. Through our system of internal controls, budgeting, and reporting we maintain ethical financial practices so The Ark's integrity is beyond reproach.
All members of The Ark may request a copy of our most recent financial statements or ask questions about our financial practices at any time.
